[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,386,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style, width:130px; height: 200px; background-image: url(http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m7a6joHj521rbsnf4o6_r1_250.png);][/style] | [style=height: 180px; overflow: auto; font-size: 9px;]the redding family goes back all the way to england, where their original ancestors migrated to america during the time of the pilgrims. they're an old family, one of the founding families of the united states, and they take extreme pride in that. the family settled in charleston, sc. throughout the years, they moved through a variety of familial occupations and reputations, until getting into horse racing and breeding in the early 1900's. always having money, the reddings really hit the jackpot with the horses and became one of the biggest names in breeding racehorses in the united states. deacon grew up as the youngest son of dylan and ophelia redding, his older brother orson being two years older than him. dylan did a wonderful job of training his son in the industry, but deacon was always the one more interested in the beauty of the animals instead of just caring how to get them excited so they could sell sperm to customers. he began taking photographs when he was eight years old with a one time use kodak camera he bought from walmart. he fell in love with the hobby immediately and spent all of his allowance buying cameras and film and processing his photos in the dark room he created for himself in one of the rooms in the loft of the stables. he also always loved the outdoors as a kid, and he would take a horse, ride out into the fields surrounding his family's home where they'd moved to virginia at the end of the 19th century. the plantation was massive, owning a hundred acres around the homestead, so he had plenty of space to hide. he'd just sleep outside under the stars with his head on his horse and his camera cradled in one hand, watching the stars until his fire died out and he couldn't hold his eyes open any longer. it wouldn't be far off to consider him a romantic of sorts. he'd not concerned with falling in love or being alone, but he loves the passion of the world around him. he romanticizes the world and its nature especially. as he grew up, he inherited the natural good looks of his mother's side of the family, and he became an unwitting heart throb in high school. he was on the yearbook club as well as the football team, and he was among the most popular kids in school. his photography hobby morphed into something he knew he wanted to do for a living, so when his father passed the family business on to his older brother, deacon went to college to be a photographer. he attended college in NYC, and after graduating, decided to move to a smaller town farther south. he moved to boston and opened his own studio, and this is where he's been for the past three years. |
