Finally, a weekend off, Annice was exhausted walking into her apartment she threw her purse down, kicking her shoes half-way across the room then flopped back on the couch. Sixteen hour days and not having more than a day off in what seemed to be months she didn’t mind it, she couldn’t really complain at all, the lab was like a second home for her, hell she even had a sleeping bag, pillow and yoga matt down there when cases had her working overnight. But still, she did miss having a social life of any sort, sure she had her friends at the station and her few outside the workplace. Sighing, she contemplated getting up and going out tonight, clicking her tongue she looked up at her ceiling, crossing her arms over her chest. Meh, I am too lazy right now. she thought to herself, in addition giving a weak laugh as she reached onto the coffee table and grabbed her tv remote she flicked it on and closed her eyes. Within fifteen minutes she was out like a light.
Gunshots coming from her television made her jump, rolling over and falling off her couch she screamed but after her head hit the floor and she looked up and realized it was just a cop show on tv she laughed at herself for being such a dork. Looking at the time she noticed it was already really late, but thanks to the catnap she was wide awake, pulling herself back up onto her couch, she glanced around the empty apartment for a minute than made the decision to get off her ass and go take a shower and go out for a night, she had earned it no?
After taking a shower and finding something she actually liked, she got in her car, however her plan hit a glitch when she wound up driving around more than anything until she finally just pulled up to the Townie, she had been in there maybe one every few years, she really didn’t like the place but for right now, she stepped out of her car and walked in. Within minutes the blonde was already on a third drink. Turning to look at everyone else in the bar she sighed, leaning an arm behind her against the bar, crossing her arms she took another drink of her beer and just tried to sort through the mess of thoughts that were swimming around in her mind.

s h o u ld i g i v e u p o r s h o u l d i just keep chasing pavements even though it
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g79/Juliart/background_black.jpg');,true][cs=2] L E A D S T O N O W H E R E | [atrb=width,240] a day like this deserved a long drink. not only did he have the most awkward and pointless conversation with his ex-girlfriend. basically, she was happy he was unhappy and was planning on dating some stupid asshole who would break her heart...but that was his humble opinion. his heart ached. suddenly, that was the last thing on his mind. caleb's heart hurt more than anything, and he closed his eyes for a brief moment. the pain was overwelming and he wanted it to go away, or at least get easier. it wasn't fair that shasta could act as though nothing was bothering her, while he was over here with a broken heart. it just fucking sucked. she already had a boyfriend, and by the sound of it, she was falling fast. a few years ago, he had been the one she was falling for and he had screwed it up. it wasn't that he cheated on her, it was just that he slept with someone she hated before they met. juniper had meant nothing in the long run, considering she had seduced him, but shasta wouldn't listen. then the whole connor thing happened and he lost his mind. he had spent two weeks after arresting connor and watching him walk free before heading to boston. maybe that was what he needed, a fresh start.
and it had been amazing. he had met some amazing people, like a beautiful blond and some classy men at work, but shasta had still been there. she hadn't been as potent in his life, but when he learned that shasta moved to boston with her father, well, he had wanted to die. everything was going so well before her, and then BAM, she was back. gabe was too, but he was in his own little world and refused to let caleb help him. it was such a gabe move, that caleb could only watch. but now that shasta was happy, he needed to be happy...after a couple of drinks. he made his way to the bar and sighed, resting his head in his hands.
a pretty bartender appeared and offered him a drink, which he gladly asked for a beer. he had no intentions of getting smashed, just simply wanting to forget things. something was going on, and he wanted to be oblivious. seriously. work was stressful, his personal life was sucky and he wanted to go home. his father lived twenty minutes away, but some how, he wasn't interested in hearing what a failure he was. rubbing his eyes, he realized that he had been planning to introduce shasta to his parents a couple of weeks after their little thing at their picnic, but it had never happened. why did everything happen around her? his eyes glanced to a pretty blond, only a few seats away and he blinked. she worked with him. something ward. anna? abby? annice. that was it. he blinked. "hey annice," he called, not super loud but hopefully loud enough to turn her head. "what's up?" | [atrb=width,100] words ,

Glancing down at her arm for a moment she had a flash of Scout’s encounter with her in the lab after the other blond had ran into V, it seemed like they were all out to get one guy, and she had been pulled into it now that she had gotten hurt. There was a paranoia in her that she couldn’t get enough to bring the man in, the girl had lived through being blown up, and could boil someone from the inside out without leaving a trace, and she couldn’t get enough to help the cops she worked with track that guy down and put him where he belonged. No wonder why she didn’t know what to do with herself, it was cases like this that kept her up at night if she didn’t drink herself senseless. A motion next to her made her eyes flick up and look at the person who had come up next to her, not really paying attention to who it was. After a few moments though the moved away and she sighed, glancing down again before taking another sip from her beer, there was a small nagging in her that she had inherited from her father, she was kinda like a dog and its old bone, you could give it a new one and let it gnaw on that for a while, but it would always go back to that one old bone. The case with V was her old bone, she had been looking in on the case for a while before it was moved over to Boston, and while her attention was divided with having to pay attention to new cases frequently, she would use all her knowledge grilling over that case and the information on the evidence that had been released to her and still nothing.
Sitting up straight she turned back to face the bar until she heard someone call her name, glancing over she saw someone only vaguely familiar, there were quite a few new officers in lately, something she hated because newbies hardly ever respected the rules of her lab, and rarely brought her slurpees, which meant having to train them to do so with snarky comments and pushing off running their evidence for last. Call it what you will, she had a way of doing things and when new cops came in, not knowing her routine and her patterns and they mess it all up, or they try to boss her around or whatever, it just didn’t go well with her. Still she smiled, taking another moment to look him over before his name hit her, “Caleb. Please its Ann or Annie, this is your warning, next time I will smack you upside the head.” That was her biggest thing, she hated being called Annice, and urged others to call her Ann or even Annie, or hell even just call her Ward, she didn’t even mind that some of guys on the force called her “Energizer Annie” she just wouldn’t settle for anyone calling her by her full first name. Shrugging she answered his question, “Doing what most people do when they work sixteen hour plus days and then finally have a weekend off. Try to drown the memory of working sixteen plus hour days and really don’t care who sees unless my boss walks in. And you?” She might be a lot of things, but she figured she could at least be honest with what she was doing.

s h o u ld i g i v e u p o r s h o u l d i just keep chasing pavements even though it
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g79/Juliart/background_black.jpg');,true][cs=2] L E A D S T O N O W H E R E | [atrb=width,240] He chuckled at her somewhat serious threat. She would most likely slap him, but it wasn’t entirely his fault. He was the newbie, the one that made things up as he went along. Caleb had only gone down to the lab once or twice since he had gotten hired, more to know where everything is and to deliver something for the Capitan. One of the older gents had let Caleb in on a little secret, and when he had gone down to the lab for the first time, he had brought a slurpee. There had been no introductions, considering Annie had been somewhere else at the time, but he left the cup on her desk with a nice little note asking her to check out the evidence. ”Annie then.” he responded, before knocking some of his beer down his throat. Her honesty was slightly unsettling for him, but he didn’t show it. It had been rare for him to receive honesty lately, whether it was from his supposed best friend or his family. No one seemed to regard the fact that he’d rather have the god awful truth then wondering what everyone was hiding. Like Gabe. He was hiding something, and while he was sad about Jazz’s death by the infamous V, he refused to talk about anything with Caleb. There had been no sense of friendship lately, and he missed his best friend. He hand his fingers through his hair and shrugged.
”Drowning my broken heart in alcohol and praying to whatever god there is that my ex doesn’t walk through those doors. She’s been popping up a little bit more than usual in my life, and the last thing I want is to show her that I’m not all fine and dandy as I seem to be.” Caleb answered before taking another swig. She had answered his question honestly, and he saw no reason to do the same. Annie wanted to forget about work, and he wanted to forget about life…maybe they were the perfect pair for a night like this. Caleb shook the thoughts of Shasta out of his mind and focused on what he had been doing on work. While he hated Connor Sewlyn with a burning passion after last year’s kidnapping, V was the new target. The amount of murders had doubled and while he was no fan of cleaning up murders, he was a fan of getting the murders off the streets. Annie was the one who helped, and he owed so much to her for all the hard work and overtime she put in. But he knew she didn’t want to talk about work right now, and he totally understood that. Work was the last thing he wanted to talk about as well, but he didn’t know her. He didn’t even know what she liked being called, let alone what she did outside of work. ”I would ask you how work is, but I have a feeling that would be pointless.” he joked, before ordering another beer. | [atrb=width,100] words ,

She smirked and nodded, Annie then. that it he went from the annoying new guy to one of the family, she knocked back some of her beer as she glanced through the crowd again for a quick moment, an old habit of hers from the marines and now having to work and live in the epicenter of a crime war, she had to keep an eye on her surroundings and know well pretty much everything she could, it was weird a d stupid but to her it meant the difference of ending up in the morgue or going to work on Monday.
She pursed her lips and nodded letting out a deep sigh and finishing off her drink, "I can honestly say I don't know what that's like, ha, I'm probably the dullest blond in the world." she shook her head, after coming out of the coma she used college as her exude for being too busy to date, than work, sure he had drunken one night stands when she had the time to go get drunk but an actual stable relationship -which with her consisted of a first date without drunkenly screwing some guy and at least one other actual date after that- was far from eye line of vision of the foreseeable future. Still she glanced at him, "but ya know if you ever need to talk my door is always open, and I am great at listening, and an excellent hugger." she added the last bit to try and joke around some to help get his mind off of it but he had said he wasn't all fine and dandy and well she was known for being a hugger.
At the again mention of work she rolled her eyes and ordered another drink before answering him, "Work, ha. My best friend nearly bleed out on the floor of my lab cause of V got some more DNA but I'm going to run some tests and check out Mr. V's diet... if I can break it down what I have I can probably figure out what he eats and from there... Where." she looked over at Caleb than stared at the bar for a moment, slapping the back of her head. "I'm sorry what I meant is, work is the closest thing I've ever had to a stable relationship, I just know it doesn't make enough to get me a ring or we'd be married by now." she scoffed, taking a sip of her drink. We sighed, than turned to face him, "So Hayes, how are you enjoying Boston?" she was calling for a subject change she would of rather had small tall than work talk right now.
