[/div] i gave you all, Embarrassment pumped though his veins faster his blood as he raced through his apartment this morning. His face was the reddest of reds and he couldn’t even speak in an attempt to make it appear as if he was calm. Augustus wanted to keep it professional, but he was doing a terrible job at it. There was something about her that drew him in. They decided to watch a movie together the night prior, innocent and something to pass the time. A movie they picked out together, but he simply agreed to whatever she chose, as he wasn’t much for movies. He woke up will her in his arms again sprawled out on the couch together, warm and tangled together he could hear her heartbeat calmly. It took no time at all to snap up and flee, embarrassed and in a rush, he didn’t apologize nor address it with her. He knew it was wrong to be so close to her after what she was going through, but it didn’t stop it from happening.
He knew boundaries would be crossed when he brought her to his home but she needed somewhere to go, she had nowhere to go now that this had happened to her. She couldn’t go back to that apartment where her husband could be waiting for her. While Saxton was all for protecting her, he politely dismissed the idea of Sam living with him. He didn’t take it to heart and he was sure Sam didn’t either as Saxton made it known he was expecting his first child. He most likely didn’t want his significant other, who probably was terribly hormonal, to get the wrong idea. It left Augustus with only one choice and he knew it would raise eyebrows, it was questionable. He brought her to his apartment, but his apartment was no place for a woman to live. Augustus spent the entirety of his adult life living on his own, he never had a roommate nor a steady girlfriend to stay with him. It wasn’t until they were at his apartment door did he think of how the inside of his apartment would look.
Darting ahead, he snatched up a pair the first pair of dirtied boxers he saw and sped off to hide them in his overflowing hamper next to his washing machine. His apartment was as if a tornado ripped through it: clothes were strewn from end to end, shirts hanging off lamps and trash cluttered on top of end tables and on the floor, dishes dirtied and smelling bad, all of his pots and pans were dirty, the cupboards were barren of food and all but a lone single glass, and you could hear the dirt as you walked across the floor. Heavily embarrassed by how he lived, he tried to explain that he wasn’t necessarily a dirty person, he just never had time to clean up. He was always working and she had to of known that, when did she ever work and he wasn’t there? Even before becoming chief, he passed this woman multiple times a day in the hall.
He would have never thought that this woman would become his future roommate nor would he have thought he would have been cuddling her on his couch. He was the guilty party of crossing boundaries, it bothered him to his core of his morals. He avoided her as he left, not eating a breakfast or packing his lunch, he simply left after he had everything he needed. Angry with himself and not at all at her, driving his car irresponsibly fast was how he released the steam that he was feeling. He needed to get himself under control around her or find her somewhere else to stay. Not able to trust himself or his sex drive, that he didn’t want to admit he had or admit Sam brought forth the animalistic side of him that wanted to sleep with her, he decided that somewhere new would have to be his best bet.
They didn’t have many women in the department, but he knew of one that he could probably harass into taking Sam with her. She was his secretary, but she was a nice girl and a little too eager to please him. He thought secretaries wanting their bosses was something only in movies and wise tales, but apparently it was completely true. At least she kept it professional, but he could tell she was holding back the urges to flirt and that made him feel like he was a man of want, a catch even, but he didn’t want it to go to his head. As it were, she wasn’t his type and he knew that he had one. They had to have a generous (read: the bigger, the better) amount up front and a little out back to make her have a nice shape – his secretary, she was graced with only a little up front (read: too small), but her ass was huge and Augustus wasn’t completely into that. He was told he was all about the breasts, but again Augustus shouldn’t be looking at woman this way. It made him feel guilty, his conscious always taking the guilty way out, whenever he viewed as a woman as attractive. Especially when he was there boss, it bothered him to think that he was still viewing them as a man who needed to get laid. He really did need to, but it was completely beside the point.
His office was his sanctuary, his safe haven from looking at women and lusting. His drive had been heightened by Sam living with him, but he didn’t think it was all to be blamed on her. She didn’t make any notion she was interested and after she saw how repulsive his apartment was, he was sure if she had ever found him attractive that she no longer felt that way. He didn’t blame her, no one woman wanted a man that was disgusting. Sighing, he sat down and rent through reports, opening his computer to read emails. There was rumor spreading that the Russian mafia were up to something despite being stagnant for months. Augustus didn’t have time to be thinking about women or to be sitting in his office. Turning on his radio, he was about to leave and talk with his officers when Sam came into the office. He couldn’t escape this woman, he noted as stood to his full height. He didn’t want to shoo her off, but he had an idea as to why she was here. “Morning, Detective Tyvek. How can I help you this morning?” It felt odd to be so formal, but he did it out of habit of each time she was in the office of how he was supposed to greet her as chief and not as Augustus. “Did I forget something, Sam?”

[atrb=width,400] don't let them take the fight out of you She woke with a start as she felt him stirring beside her, and it took her only moments to realize it was his arms wrapped around her and she was wrapped around him in return. Her eyes opened slowly as she felt him fly off of the couch, and a part of her realized that it would be easier for them both if she just pretended that she was still sleeping. Horribly embarrassed because of his reaction to what he had woken up to, she turned over to face the back of the couch so he wouldn't be able to read her expression. She felt horribly unwanted and unlovable. The man she had loved, that she had given her heart to, wanted her, but not in a way that she reciprocated. If she returned to him she would surely lose her life, and that was not something that she could stomach. Feeling sick when she thought of it, she forced the memories of the numerous beatings out of her mind, still wondering what she had done to deserve all of that. Resisting the urge to break down into another fit of tears, she refused to believe it was because Augustus had just reacted the way that he had.
Not speaking now, she slowed her breathing so that she did in fact, appear to be sleeping. She didn't want to deal with him and he clearly didn't want to deal with her. It wasn't until she heard the apartment door slam shut did she know that it was safe for her to move. Pushing herself up, she ran her fingers through her blonde hair to tame it, then sat on the edge of the couch for a moment, her eyes drifting around the apartment. She had done little things to clean it up, but she hadn't felt like it was her place to clean up his entire apartment. Now that he had sufficiently pissed her off, she didn't rightly care about what he wanted or didn't want.
Standing up quickly, standing in only shorts and a tank top, she started with the laundry first. Picking up his dirty clothes that were strewn around the entire place, she had an arm full in only seconds. She was going to need a basket. Heading to the washing machine, she shoved the clothes in, taking the basket and hurrying around the apartment, filling it to the brim. Once she had a full load in, she started up the washing machine and checked the dryer. Finding the clean clothes, she grumbled to herself and left them there. She would fold them after she cleaned his bedroom. Reaching that area first, she sighed and stripped his bed, putting on the clean sheet set she found in the hall closet. Making up the bed again, she finished organizing his room, working faster than she normally would have because of her anger and her hurt at what had just transpired between them. While she was entirely confused about the situation, she knew that she wouldn't have walked out on him. She would have talked about it but apparently, he wanted none of that. Grumbling to herself once more, she finished cleaning his bedroom, struggling with the full laundry hamper as she dragged it down the hall to get it to the washing machine. "Fuck. Do you ever wash you clothes?" She mumbled to herself and then went on to deal with the rest of the house.
It took a total of three hours, after she had scrubbed all of the pots and pans and dishes and put them away. The laundry was finished and piled in neat folded sections of his bed, and she had managed to find a vacuum in the other hall closet. She ran it through the house multiple times because there was so much dirt, and when she finished, she dusted all of his furniture for good measure. Opening the windows to get the awful smell out of the apartment, she left it to air out while she cleaned, grabbing the nearly empty spray bottle of Febreze from under the sink. Satisfied that the apartment was clean and actually smelled fresh, she sighed heavily. Now what was she going to do with her day? She had been growing increasingly restless from being cooped up, but Augustus had deemed it her safest route. Well fuck him. She was tired of being safe and boring. Going around the apartment, she shut and locked the windows and then hurried through a shower. Letting her hair dry naturally wavy, she left it hanging down her back as she changed into a pair of jeans and a plain white long sleeved shirt. Pulling on brown boots over her skinny jeans, she figured she looked presentable enough for the yelling she was about to do.
Leaving the guest bedroom that remained clean, she entered the clean kitchen and decided against an early lunch. She just wanted to get to the station and catch Augustus in his office.
Leaving the apartment after grabbing her brown leather coat, she locked the door behind her and checked her phone. No messages. Well, that was a relief. Augustus had issued her to get a new phone, to change her number, and she had obeyed willingly. Anything to get the man to stop calling her, to stop contacting her. He apparently hadn't been able to figure out her new number with all of his police friends. Satisfied, she hurried down the street, opting to walk to the police station instead of driving. Her car was too recognizable to her husband since it was in such a state of disrepair. It wasn't really safe to drive, but she didn't have a choice. Her squad car wasn't available to her while she was on her mandatory month leave. Shaking her head at that thought, she reached up to gently touch her reconstructed nose. That asshole had broken her for the last time. Next time, she was going to shoot him. It would be self defense and with Augustus knowing her history, she was sure he understood. Finally, the police station was up ahead, and she ducked into it without a second thought.
Everyone stared at her like they had seen a ghost, but she ignored them pointedly.
Hearing the whispers but not caring, she stormed straight into Augustus' office, slamming the door behind her. When he greeted her formally, her eyes blazed with a fire, and she pointed her finger at him from where she stood at the door. "I need to be put back to work, Chief, or I'm going to lose my mind. I just cleaned your entire apartment, just to give you a bit of an image." She snapped heatedly, stepping forward to the edge of his desk as she watched him get to his feet. "I cannot be expected to sit around all day and do nothing. Let me come back to work." She stated furiously, her temper rising because of what had happened between them this morning. Losing her entire composure, she stepped around his desk, coming face to face with him as he turned to watch her, whether he denied her of her request or not.
"And, another thing. You're an asshole. You can't just run away and act like nothing happened. You...you...ass." She finished, bringing her hands up to suddenly shove him with all of her strength. And compared to him, she was a shrimp. The fact that he barely moved made her temper flare once more, and her cheeks rose with a blush because of her anger. However, she was suddenly distracted, watching him cross his arms, hearing him chuckle at her. Of course the damn asshole had to sound sexy even when he was laughing at her, and she fixed him with a glare, pushing him again even though it again did nothing to relieve her frustrations. "It's not funny you insufferable, pompous, jerk!" She finished her small tirade, breathless even though she had barely done a thing. Standing there now, she eyed him in all of her fury, finding herself more and more turned on by the fact that he was standing so close to her. And she found herself lingering on his lips before flicking her gaze up to his eyes.
Unable to stop herself, she pushed herself up against him, her hand going to the back of his neck, her fingers trailing up into his hair. "I'm mad at you." She explained, her voice low and nearly a whisper. However, that statement didn't stop her from pulling his head down, from standing on the tips of her toes, from bringing her lips crashing against hers in a kiss that she had desperately wanted for weeks now.

[/div] i gave you all, The first days when she first moved in seemed long and tense – Augustus didn’t know how to act around her. He never had a woman in his personal space before as constant as Sam was. For the first days, she stayed relatively to her guest bedroom. A bedroom in which he had to clean out all the junk he set in there and put it into storage only to buy a new bedroom set just for her. Her room was the cleanest room in the house because despite moving her in, Augustus had no time to do his cleaning. A part of him wanted her to see that he wasn’t perfect and that he had his own bad side. His bad side being that he was a lazy and keeping a dirty house. He at least picked up some of the garbage that was strewn about for her. With each day, they relaxed until they grew accustomed to each other. He saw parts of her that made him raise an eyebrow, but he shrugged it off with crossed arms and a chuckle. The more they lived together the more he saw her as Sam and she became a part of home.
He didn’t want to admit it, but she had become part of his home and when this was over, it would hurt. He would miss seeing her cook at the stove for the simple reason that he didn’t use if not for scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. Sam, she amazed him with her cooking talents, He tried watching her, when he was around and had the time, but she always lost him at some point. Her cooking was delicious and he almost felt as if he was keeping her at his apartment instead of finding her another because he didn’t want to miss out on food better than precooked microwave meals. Not only for just the cooking, but Sam gave him someone to talk to about the stress of his job. He felt as if she didn’t judge him, but she never let an opportunity pass where she would interject that she would much like to be working herself. Augustus didn’t want her to come back to the station until he was sure she wouldn’t stress and tire herself out. He knew that he could easily take preemptive measures to avoid this as they lived together now, but he didn’t want her to feel caged.
Slowly everything came together and suddenly, just now he realized how comfortable he felt with her around. He knew roughly what time she would wake up if she was undisturbed and he knew to stay clear of the bathroom so she could have her space. He also knew what time she would make dinner and if he could, he would escape the offices just long enough to sit down and eat with her. Augustus tried to rack his brain of how this seemed so hard with other women before Sam, but he couldn’t think of a reason. It just felt right with Sam, but he didn’t know if it was because there was no pressure to be together. They were roommates on a professional basis and that was what made living together so easy. Now after one movie together, the underlying attraction and tension reared its head. Augustus had his back against the couch and he had pulled Sam close to him. Warmth like he never felt before was between them. Warmth and he felt like he was put here just to protect her from this man. He was being too lax on pushing forward with pursuing this man, he needed to step it up a notch.
He was in luck that she was still sleeping as he pulled himself out of her grasp and let go of her. A quick shower, suddenly thankful for all those times he had less than ten minutes total to be cleaned, dressed, and out the door. He pulled clothes out of the dryer and pulled them on, straightening himself up and he left out the door. He felt awful, as if he was preying on her while she was weak but he told himself that it wasn’t the case. Despite how unprofessional it was, he knew he had a serious attraction and fancy for her. He wanted to take her on a date, but there was all the reasons in the world why he couldn’t and even if he could why he shouldn’t.
If he wasn’t her boss, they were part of the same police department. Now because he was her boss, he couldn’t date someone in his department and even this was risqué. Another reason was that she was coming out of an abusive relationship and he didn’t know if going straight into another was the best thing. So all of what he felt he had to swallow and refocus his energy on his job. This is what he had chosen with the women before her and now it was only difficult because he wanted to be with her. He never felt such a strong desire before her. It was killing him, but he didn’t think she felt the same way. Of course, she had to of felt the sexual tension because she was the other party, but he knew she was interested. It bruised his ego, but all of this was something he would never admit.
Head snapping up, he watched her as she came in. Greeting her the way he would anyone, it was as if he shot the gun that said go. And boy, was she coming out strong. He stood and they were close he could almost feel the fine hair on her arms near him. At first, the conversation was all normal as it was, and it always was, about her returning to work early. She cleaned his apartment? He was amused that it was somehow a vague idea of punishment to her. But when she took it to his running out this morning, he clenched a jaw and sucked his cheek in, holding back all his words. She shoved him and he blinked in surprise but he was relatively unaffected. He let her know with a chuckle as he crossed his arms, looking down at her as he normally did.
She didn’t like that much either, shoving him once again in her anger. He couldn’t help it – she was being adorable and she just didn’t know it. It wasn’t as if he could tell her she was being so cute either, as she was his employee in this setting and not his roommate. Not that anyone could hear them in his office, he still didn’t feel quite right looking and thinking of her this way in his office. Yet, they still came forward. She was cute to him, when she was mad and frustrated at him over his decision to keep her out of the offices for a month and about his poor choice of running out. Her eyes weren’t looking into his and it took him a moment to see she was looking at his lips. It caused him to smile, further taunting and provoking her forward. She noticed.
Stating that she was mad, he felt her hand travel up his neck and find her way into his hair. Some people said kisses happened in slow motion, but Augustus didn’t have any time to think on this kiss. It just happened and he wanted it to happen. She pulled his head down and stood on her tip toes to meet his face. Their lips crushed together and they locked, he wasted no time unfolding his arms to clasp around her. His hand found her long locks of a fair gold and the other, while he didn’t consciously think of it, grasped the small of her back with his fingers lingering on her behind. They kissed, and pulled apart, both looking into each other’s eyes. A silent battle, a silent agreement, and a silent plea for more. Their first kiss they kept their mouths closed, but it didn’t stop Augustus the second time as he initiated the kiss. He opened her mouth with a gentle guidance of his own, his tongue exploring her mouth as much as she would allow and dancing along with her own tongue. He threw caution to the wind, he didn’t care about anything in this moment.
And that’s when it happened.
And explosion sounded off and rippled through the police station.

[atrb=width,400] don't let them take the fight out of you Sam caught the smug look on his expression and she wanted to shove him again. She would never do more than shove him because she knew what it was like to be hit, and she'd never want to do that to anyone else. However, if she was the violent type, she would whack that look right off of his face. Keeping herself composed, she just glared at him instead. "Stop laughing Augustus, or so help me." She snapped up at him, her petite frame looking even tinier with his massive size looming over her. Their height difference was laughable at best but Sam never usually let it bother her. She was sure that if they went through the police academy together, she would still try to kick his ass. She wouldn't win, of course, but she would have fun trying. So instead of trying to tackle him, she fixed him with a look that would kill if that was at all possible. Resisting the urge to cross her arms, she did what she had wanted to do since the very beginning. She kissed him until she could feel the sensation humming in her stomach.
He didn't make matters any easier as he returned the kiss. She felt him move his arms, felt his touch go to her hair, go to her back, his fingers brushing her rear without control. She wanted his touch, she wanted his attention. She didn't feel disgusted by it, she didn't feel as if he was going to hurt her. She trusted him, having gotten to know him on a more personal level outside of work because of his guidelines. If she ever wanted to go back to work again, she was not to return to her apartment unguarded. In fact, now that he had escorted her there to grab the things she needed, she wasn't allowed to go back at all. She understood why and she appreciated it, but he needed to realize that she was stronger than she seemed or looked. While the man who had once loved her unconditionally had broken her nose, while he had raped her, Sam didn't know how to tell Augustus that it wasn't the first time those things had happened. While she was never truly recovered from the rapes that he bestowed upon her, she liked to think that she was strong enough to at least put them at the back of her mind. She wanted someone, needed someone to change her opinions, to sway her broken heart. She wanted that someone to be Augustus and that thought only served to fuel her fire, to fuel her desire.
However, she was pleasantly surprised when he went in for a second kiss, this time deepening it as he explored her mouth with his tongue.
Letting him in more ways than one, she dropped the defenses that she had built up around her heart and she let him take over for the moment as their passion grew with each passing moment. stepping closer to him, she pressed her body up against his, wrapping her arms more tightly around his neck so that he couldn't pull away from her. She was afraid that if he did again, he would lose interest and regain his mind and his composure. She needed this, wanted this, and his return of the gesture led her to believe that he wanted and needed the same thing. Deepening the kiss from her end, she let him know that he was doing the right thing. A small whine left her throat as they kissed, and she kept her eyes closed tightly, letting herself get lost in the moment.
That was when the ground shook beneath her, making her lose her focus, filling her heart with fear.
Pulling away from him, her heart beat leaped in her chest and she extricated herself from him. Beating him to the door, she pulled at the handle, only to find that it was locked. "A-August...it's...it's locked. It's not opening!" She informed him, pulling at the door over and over again until he reached her side. As he struggled with the door, she ran back to his desk, grabbing his walkie talkie and shoving it in his hands when she got back to him. The fear over what could have happened was alarming her, and she paced back and forth now, running her hands through her blonde hair, trying to get a handle on herself. It would not do her well to lose her composure, so she forced herself to relax, showing Augustus that she was still capable of being a professional even in the case of an emergency. Now, she could hear and listen as he desperately tried to gain radio contact with anyone from the unit. Knowing out of instinct that it was not going to happen, she took a deep breath and let it out slowly, listening as he tried to reach his men, his force, over and over again to no avail. Furrowing her brow in worry over his worry, she knew that there was nothing that he could do. "Augustus."
When he didn't respond to her, still fretting over the door, she sighed and walked closer to him, her hands going to wrap around one of his muscled upper arms. Momentarily stunned by what she held between her fingers, she tried to figure out how it was possible for one man to have such muscle definition to him. Sam's mouth parted slightly in surprise, and she pulled herself out of her revelry to tug at his arm. "Augustus, stop. Just stop. There's nothing we can do from in here. We're trapped until someone comes." It was then that the lights went out, and she huffed in irritation. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out her phone, activating the flashlight that was built into it and pulling him over to his desk so he couldn't complain. Reaching behind him and to the windows, she pulled the shade, glad for the natural light that was let into the room so she could see him properly. "Just...sit." She instructed him, glancing out in the streets to see anything. she couldn't make anything out because of the position and she sighed and returned to him, finding him still standing.
fixing him a look, she put her hand to his chest, pushing him to sit down. "Sit. I know a way that we can pass the time. There's nothing we can do. Trust me." She couldn't forget the fear and the panic that were welling in her chest over the situation, but she needed to get him to calm down. Leaning forward, she suddenly had herself in his lap, her knees bracing herself on either side of him as her fingers traveled up his chest, to his neck, to the sides of his face to cup his cheeks in her hands. "You just have to wait to hear from them. We're stuck." She told him softly, knowing it was killing him inside not to be able to hear from the unit. She just had to keep him sufficiently distracted. Leaning down, her hair cascading over her shoulder and framing her face, she trailed her fingers over his lower lip, lingering for only a moment before bringing her lips against his in another passionate kiss. tag: name word count: ### outfit: link notes: a few brief words. |

[/div] i gave you all, Kisses were powerful, they meant more than people could express in words and together they were telling each other they wanted one another. Augustus let himself go in this moment, where all that he felt for her was released in an onslaught that she welcomed. He wanted her to know that yes there was an attraction and a pull to her that he didn’t know if it was normal or too soon or unwarranted. He didn’t know why he had this sense of urgency to hold her, protect her, to make her know that he was here and he wanted her as she was. That he wanted to protect her from her husband and help guide her out of the situation. That man would sign the papers if he had hold a gun to his hand the entire time, Augustus would do it for her. There was always the lingering idea that after she was free of this man that she would leave but he knew they would cross that bridge when and if they got there. As it were, right now they were kissing in the silence of his office. He heard chatter outside the door, across the hall amongst the squad and against that background noise he heard her give him a noise of satisfaction that pushed him further. She was tight against him and he wasn’t letting her go, but when the ground shook and the loud noise burst his mouth snapped away from her.
She was firs to hit the door in an attempt to go out, but he was losing patience with her fast, despite knowing she was trying to do the same thing he wanted. He was desperate to get to them, he could hear yelling, yells of pain and terror. When she finally moved out of the way behind him, he struggled with the locked door for himself. There was no use in trying to unlock it, he stepped back and shoulder checked it with all of his might. Releasing a grunt of pain, he kept trying with his shoulder until he switched to kicking it, but there was no use. This doo was simply not budging and his breath was ragged, heaving in heavy breathes to steady and try to calm himself. He wouldn’t rest until he was out of this room and helping the people, his employees and friends, of this squad. By their yells he knew some were in pain and that made his heart ache, his entire being shake in anger. What happened? Who would do this? Did someone do this? What was the point? He heard gunshots and yells, running – there was still people unharmed. It didn’t relieve when he could hear them firing at someone and whoever they were firing at fired back. Sam placed his radio in his hands and he almost snatched it in his haste. The radios were static silent, but it didn’t stop him from trying.
“Chief Sawyer paging in. Anyone live? Read me? What’s going on?”
He waited, silence.
“Assistant Chief, what’s your location? Debrief on situation at large, please.”
He waited, more silence.
“Anyone live? Chief Sawyer, paging in. Currently held up in office, no avail to an exit. Anyone live? Anyone read me?”
There was no on the radios and his heart swelled, he couldn’t get anyone to answer him. He knew it was hopeless and feeble, but he couldn’t give up hope. He had to call, despite his frustrations and his worry that took hold of his being. “Chief Sawyer. Anyone live? 10-4.” With no answer, he purposely hit head against his door in anger. He felt Sam grasp him and he couldn’t face her. This wasn’t her fault as she was here, trapped inside of this office with him, so he held his temper within and didn’t take it out on her. She did nothing wrong and she was here for him. The lights flickered up and his head tilt upward to the ceiling in anguish. The only thing they had for a clue and didn’t make sense was the words: are you afraid of the dark? And now, it all made sense to Augustus. He punched the door in a snap of anger.
Sam pulled him away from the door, but he didn’t let go of his grasp on that radio. It was his only hope that someone would reach out to them. He didn’t like being pulled or leg, but because it was her. He listened, but he didn’t want to sit down. Standing his ground until she put her hand on his chest as if she could push him down. He sat down and watched her, his eyes blinking hard at the water that threatened to fall. He was a man who cared, who worried, and right now it was overwhelming him. It was as if they had kissed years ago and it had only been minutes. She sat herself on his lap and he snapped to attention as he felt her weight on his legs. She cupped his face and he nodded, listening to her. “I know, I’m just concerned… I could hear guns firing and yells... People are hurting, the squad is hurting.” He muttered and looked down.
It was silent, but she reached to trace his lips and his eyes flickered to her eyes, only lit by cellphone and natural light. She looked more beautiful than he had ever seen her. Their dynamic changed with the kisses, there was more to this now than boss looking out for employee. While this wasn’t love, this was affection, lust, passion, care. Augustus never had this sort of combination before with anyone and it made his knees weak in confusion yet awe. Her lips came to his again and he let her have it, willing to get lost in her essence, refocus his energy away from the tragedy. Whoever was working knew what their job was or else they would be more frantic to get him out of here. As it were, he should break the window and run until he could get back in, but with Sam on his lap he was staying put.
His head was swimming, but he set the radio down on the desk. His hands traveled up her back, to feel her shoulders and gently glide down her side with feather light touch to tease and caress. One hand continue this motion as the other found her hair, pushing her closer against him and his mouth. From there is glided down the plan of her back to grasp her the fleshy underside of her butt and thigh to pull her closer. His own energy surged through him and he was aware of how tuned in he to her. He shifted his weight to hide his growing excitement, a boy that hadn’t been touch in a while, he was embarrassed but he didn’t relent his ministrations on her mouth or let her separate. The radio was dead, static silent, but he was losing himself in lust and he was almost selfish enough to say nothing else matter. He didn’t want to lose this chance he had with her, now or never.

[atrb=width,400] don't let them take the fight out of you She leaned her head against the cool glass of the darkened windows of his office, listening to the mayhem that was reigning down outside. They were so close, yet so far out of reach that it was like a tease. But they couldn't lose their heads. Keeping her composure, she jumped slightly as she heard a loud bang. Turning to look at where Augustus was, she saw him ramming the door with his shoulder, followed by his grunt of pain. Knowing that he needed to try, she didn't advise against it, but she had a feeling that the door wouldn't budge. She didn't know why it was locked, but whoever did this didn't plan on the chief of police getting out very easily. This had to have been a planned attack and she wondered how in the world anyone had been able to get the explosives inside of around the building. Furrowing her brow, she refocused her attention to listen to the screams of their fellow police force members, hearing the sounds of gun fire, as well as return live rounds. What was going on? This was a shoot out? How could they even see who they were shooting at in the dark like this? Sucking in a breath, she prayed that no one on their side had been injured or killed, but it seemed hopeless because of the yells surrounding them.
Suddenly aware that Augustus was frantic with the radio, she listened to him in anguish, knowing that there was nothing that he could do. She had to calm him down, force him to keep his head in this situation. The only way she knew how to do that was to distract him. And to distract him, she needed to kiss him again. She felt guilty and selfish for thinking in such a way during such a terrorizing time, but she had to make him see that there was nothing that they could do. They were barricaded inside of this office for who knew how long, without power. There was no way that they could contact anyone because as she stared at her phone, she realized that she had absolutely no cell service whatsoever. Hopelessness sank in and she turned to stare at him as he kicked the door in. Or tried to. He was working himself up into a panic, and she couldn't allow him to do that to himself.
Stepping forward, she grabbed his arm, knowing in her heart that he wasn't going to be so sure about this. Neither was she, but how else was she going to make him focus. Feeling his resistance, his hesitance, she urged him silently at first, and then spoke up once more. "They're good people. They know what their jobs are. Let them do their jobs August." She whispered to him, watching him with her worried blue eyes. Finally getting him to his chair, she settled onto his lap after allowing the natural light into the room. They were blocked by the shades that were drawn over his office windows that looked out into the precinct and she thought that it was a good thing. While she was sure the glass was bullet proof, she was worried that if the enemy did know that Augustus was for certain in here, they would come after him with a vengeance. Worried for his safety if he got himself involved in other way, she gently combed her fingers through his hair as she sat easily on his lap, her knees straddling him in order to keep him stationary. Dropping her hands from his hair, she began to trace his face, watching him as the uncertainty peppered his eyes. Hearing his words, she nodded softly.
"They're also fighting back."
She explained to him simply, tracing the worry lines that tooled across his handsome features. Without hesitation now, she let her lips linger over his, kissing him passionately, yet tenderly. She knew that she had wanted this man for some time now. His aversion to her this morning had hurt her in more ways than she could imagine and she wished that she could change things. She wished that she hadn't fallen asleep in his arms, she wished that she hadn't moved in with him in the first place. Yet, if things hadn't happened that way she wouldn't even really know this man. Sure, he was her boss, but he was so much more than that now. He was a man that she cared about, that she had strong feelings for. Their constant dance around one another in his apartment was something that only fueled her desire to be closer to him. It scared her, how much she wanted this man after going through what she had been through. She had vowed never to care for another in fear that her husband would hurt him, and she knew that the thought of Ryan hurting Augustus would take her breath away, but that would come later. She would make this man aware of the danger that she could put him in, that he was already in because he had opened his home to her. Furrowing her brow slightly at those thoughts, she pushed them stubbornly away and continued to kiss him.
Feeling his hands on her filled her with fire, and she willingly moved closer against him as his hand touched the underside of her back end. Her stomach was now flat against his, her back arched slightly from his feather soft touches that she could feel even through the jacket she was wearing. Her breathing increased, staccato like in the gasps that she could take between kisses. Feeling him stir beneath her turned her on even more and she felt the surge in her lower belly, making her body tremble with desire. Pulling her lips quickly from his, she stopped suddenly, the tremors still rocking her as she wrapped her arms around his neck. She needed to keep distracting him, but she had been unaware of what he could make her feel. Resting her forehead against his shoulder, she buried her face in his neck after a moment and whispered softly against his skin. "August..." She needed to know if this was still okay, that this was what he wanted. "Please don't...don't stop." She whispered, her cheeks flooding with heat out of embarrassment for what she just uttered. Thankful for the dim lighting from the windows, she kept her face buried in his neck, breathing quickly. She didn't want him to stop, but it was his choice now. tag: name word count: ### outfit: link notes: a few brief words. |

[/div] i gave you all, The men and women of this precinct just had an assault launched on them and he was stuck within his office unable to help or defend. Feeling useless wasn’t the only word that came to his mind, but he was always a man that was hard on himself. He wasn’t put here on this earth to sit in an office all of the time. He had said so when he accepted the job and they all toasted to it that he would not sit down on the job more than he had to. Yet here he was in one of their times of trouble sitting on his ass and it didn’t bode well for him. He was fixated on it and he didn’t want to be distracted, he wanted to get out of this office and save someone, help someone, anyone that needed him. If he had to remember this day for the rest of life then he didn’t want to remember it trapped and useless in the place where he was supposed to be in charge. He should be the one dying for this department, not those who he felt were losing their lives. Of course, everything sounded worse than it could actually be. Whatever the case, he was shaken to the core and he looked at Sam, so calm during the line of fire. He wanted to be so calm, but he wasn’t capable when it came to people in danger. Not when they were the people who protected others, it wasn’t that easy for him. Yet she could be so calm and gentle to him as if he wasn’t a failure or useless. He didn’t know how to thank her except vow he would set her free. She deserved it for being the hardworking woman he knew.
Her words did little to calm him, but he knew what her intent was and he appreciated it more than she would ever know. He couldn’t get a word in edge wise before she kissed him again and it was probably for the better. Their lips met in a bout of passion that flicked and started a burn in his veins that he had not felt in a very long time. Augustus couldn’t remember the last time he lusted after a woman like he did Sam. Living with her opened his eyes to a woman he didn’t notice before in the fashion that he was noticing her now. She was now in his space constantly, but only because it was his own doing. It was in his nature to protect someone and he could have easily let the protection agency do their job with Sam, but he hadn’t. it had been his own desire to protect her after finding her clutching the knife in her tub. Now seeing her constantly, day into night after day into night, he grew a desire for her and an emotional tie that he didn’t expect to happen. Now despite what she desired he couldn’t let her leave and he knew he would soon find reasons to keep her. He couldn’t say he loved her, their time together was so small and short, but he cared for her in ways that he hadn’t cared for a woman in a very long time. Falling asleep with her in his arms was not a mistake, even though he had acted it in the morning rushing out before he had to face her. He had wanted to hold her close so he had brought her near and she hadn’t stopped him. That’s why he was the ass she called him, it was true.
Pulling away from him, he was sure that she wanted him to stop but she told him not to. It was as if he was the one who had to lead them to the other side if this was where they were meant to go. If he did, he was crossing all professional boundaries and taking what was between them to a personal and intimate level. If he didn’t he risked losing her, having her shield against him. He couldn’t chance that from her, he needed to know if she felt safe and if he denied her he didn’t think she would let him forget it that easily. But it wasn’t a matter of denying her because he didn’t want to, very fiber of his being burned with a desire to be with her, but because of where they were and what they would be risking if someone were to suddenly looking in the window or busting down the door. There were all these factors that said why not to, but this beautiful woman, much more delicate than she would ever long to admit, was breathing against his next in desire and a want to be with him. He wanted to be with her, on a professional level he didn’t want her to know but as Augustus, the man that held a high respect and care for her after the past two weeks of living her, he wanted her to know. She told him not to stop, and he was going to keep going, for the both of them. His hands travelled up her arms and pulled at the jacket, taking it off and dropping it to the floor. Augustus wasn’t a Casanova, he was nervous as hell and his heart rang in his ears as he slowly went about this. Straightening out, she could feel his desire but he chose not to address it as his fingers tread softly until they grasped the edge of her shirt and pulled it up and over her head. Before him was a woman clad in only her bra and he looked at her, his eyes taking in every inch of flesh as his hands traveled up her arms meeting in the middle as the fingers brushed her collarbone. Leaning forward, he placed hot kisses against her neck as he made his way down, pausing at her collarbone as his hands traced the curve from her hip and waist, to the planes across her stomach.
His hands moved to her back, as his lips found hers again, kissing her with a steady passion as he unclasped her bra and gently pulled it off her shoulders and set it down on his desk. His lips pulled away from her to take in the sight of her breasts. He didn’t know what to say but by the way he was staring at her, he felt compelled to tell her his thoughts no matter how foolish they may have be. “You’re… You’re the most beautiful…. Most perfect woman… That has ever allowed me to be with them…. I hope you know that.” He told her softly before kissing her tenderly, his large hands cupping her breasts to feel them, hold them and memorize their weight and feel as if he would never feel them again. He cherished every moment as he ran his thumbs over nipples, tilting her back away from him so he could place his mouth on them, his tongue running along them and gently sucking, kissing them after the pressure. From one, he went to the other as his hands reached her pants and worked on getting them off. He didn’t know how long he had with her and he didn’t want to rush through it, but somewhere in the back of his mind he knew he couldn’t spend hour fascinated by her. It was a little disappointing, but it was all in the back of his mind.
Grasping her behind, he turned and lifted her onto his desk, urging her to lift so he could shimmy her out of her pants. Quickly, he followed suit, not entirely undressing her or himself, he was nervous. The space around them seemed heavy and he was almost embarrassed by how ready he was, but he couldn’t wait much longer and if he did they could run out of time. It would be only a matter of time before someone came knocking. “I’m… yeah… okay, gonna do it now.” He wanted to hang himself for making it awkward, but he entered her without any word. He was relatively silent, not a very vocal man when he was having sex, but he kissed her multiple times to let her know he cared and he wanted her. He didn’t know if he would regret this when it was over. It was too soon and it was risky, but he trusted her that she wouldn’t use it against him. She could use it against him or someone could walk in and it would be over for both of them, their careers were on the line. As soon as he felt his climax near, he didn’t announce it, he let it happen as she let hers happen. He let the moment sink in before he kissed her a final time. Suddenly his attention was snapped from her to a knock at the door. “Chief? Chief you ok?” He looked at her, panic rising but he couldn’t just zip up and leave her. Heart pounding, he knew he had to even if it was a risk to her self-esteem. Kissing her forehead, he pulled away from her and zipped up. “yes, I’m in here. The door barricaded in itself.”
“Chief we got men down, it’s bad out here. We need you.”
“Listen, you got to break the door down and then I will be out there. Keep a calm head, officer.” He ordered naturally, his leadership skills settling in.
“Give me 5, chief.”
“Five minutes, sam.”

[atrb=width,400] don't let them take the fight out of you Struggling with her urges, trying to control herself so that she could keep his fear and his worry off of what was going on outside of this office, she sighed softly to herself to try to bring her racing heart beat under control. He had to realize that there was nothing that they could do while they were barricaded in here. They were trapped together and being erratic and uneasy was not going to help the situation in the least. Keeping a cool head was going to be better for them both, and as her fingers explored him above his shirt, she let her eyes focus on his, wanting him to calm down for a minute to focus on what she was doing to him instead of what his fear was doing to him. And then, with her words, everything seemed to happen at once.
At first her heart skipped a beat in fear, remembering the last time she had been in an intimate situation. Her soon to be ex-husband had forced her while he was with her in her apartment here but she knew that this man would not do that to her. She knew that if she said no, he would respect her wishes and leave her alone. However, Sam didn't want to say no. She was too caught up in the moment as his hands started removing her clothes, as his breathing increased in rhythm with hers. Her lips parted slightly as she tried to catch her breath, aware of his fingers playing with the hem of her shirt. His lips were suddenly on her skin, and she felt like she was on fire from his touch and his kisses alone. Her head tilted back naturally as he kissed her neck, giving him easier access. Her hands traveled softly to his shoulders, clinging to him because she needed to keep herself grounded somehow.
A whispered sigh left her lips as he continued to explore her body, aware of his hands slipping from her thin hips, around to her back. Tensing instinctively for a moment because of her history, she soon relaxed into him and his attentions, allowing him to unclasp her bra and remove it. Now exposed, she couldn't help but feel slightly embarrassed at her appearance. His words gave her confidence though, and her cheeks blushed with color. Not warranting him a response, she proved her pleasure by returning his kisses, but letting her hands slip from his shoulders and down to the bottom of his shirt.
Her fingers curled around the fabric, pulling it so that she could pull him closer to her simultaneously. Her hands stayed wrapped up in the bottom of his shirt for a moment before she parted her lips from his, pushing his shirt up his broad, muscled torso, reveling in the sight of him as he stood shirtless before her. Dropping the shirt to the ground at their feet, her blue eyes swept over him, drinking him in. "That's not fair.." She spoke suddenly, the laughter bubbling up in her eyes instead of expressing itself vocally. He was nervous, she was nervous, and humor seemed to be something that could get them through their nerves. Feeling better already, despite the fact that he was built like a truck, she relaxed. She felt like she was entirely out of shape compared to him, and as her hands traveled wondrously over his deliciously sculpted muscles, she made a promise to start working out if this was going to continue.
Suddenly, she was being shifted, her attention drawn from his chest to the fact that he was helping her sit up a little so that he could pull her pants down. They were so tight that her underwear went with them and she was nearly completely revealed to him. Before she got a chance to reach forward and help him with his pants, he moved fast enough to pull them down himself. Her eyes took him in for a moment until she slowly raised her gaze to stare into his eyes, nodding softly to let him know that this was alright.
In moments he had stepped forward, sliding into her easily because of how ready for him she was. His ministrations had worked her up and she met him willingly, melting into him, her lips finding his and embracing their familiarity. Kissing him deeply, passionately, she slowly lifted her hands from his abs, sliding them up his chest to wrap her arms around his neck, pushing herself forward and onto him as he worked with her. As he pushed into her, she pushed her hips forward, meeting him with a desirous need.
A breathy sigh left her lips as he continued to move with her, and she closed her eyes in her ecstasy as he worked her up to her climax. When she reached it, the moan that left her lips was heady and hot, her arms tightening around his neck as the orgasm ripped through her entire body, making her tense against him. Breathless now, she returned his kiss, a small whine leaving her throat before she could even think to stop it. Resting her forehead against his shoulder for a moment, catching her breath, she jumped when she heard the banging on the door. As he pulled away from her, she wasted no time in standing, yanking her pants and her underwear up as she listened to Augustus talk to his officer. Furrowing her brow, she reached for her bra, putting it on quickly, her cheeks reddening from the awkwardness that the officer outside the door was creating. Finding her shirt, she pulled it on over her blonde hair, running her fingers through her locks so it didn't look like she was a mess. Finding her jacket, she grabbed his shirt on the way by, holding it out to him with innocence in her blue eyes.
"I think I'd like to talk again later."
She whispered pointedly, watching him for his reaction as he announced that they would only be in here for another five minutes. Nodding her head, she held out her hand to him. "Does this mean I can have my badge and my gun back, Chief?" She asked him, quirking an eyebrow. When he seemed to hesitate, Sam stepped forward, taking another step, and then another. They still had five minutes after all.
Hearing the men work outside the door to try to get it cleared, she stood on her tip toes once more, her lips finding his in another moment, familiar and wanting. Pulling away for a moment, she spoke up. "I'll make you, somehow, let me come back to work." tag: name word count: ### outfit: link notes: a few brief words. |
