CHARACTER TRANSFER (READ AND REPLY!)

The time is drawing near when the new jcink site will be open, and that means we need to start the character transfers. That's right, we need your help for this! Granted, there's no saying you can't recreate your characters once we're there, but this thread is so you can reserve faces/characters ahead of time.

Now, with that said, there are a few plot points I'd like to discuss to help you with your decision(s). Here's where the groups stand as of jcink!ets:

The Irish: Once one of their key members is almost killed in battle, the Selwyn mafia chooses to join an once-defunct crime organization known as The Combined. They are no longer 'the' Irish mafia, but part of a larger organization that will strengthen and protect them now that they are leaderless.

The Russians: Similarly to the Selwyn mafia, the Petrov brigade of the Bratva (currently led by Anya Petrova), splits up and its members are reorganized elsewhere. The pakhan of the entire Russian Bratva has ordered members of his brigades to follow the Selwyns - and The Combined - to Charleston, SC (where they fled after battle).

There are also a few new groups on the new version of the site, so we're not limited to just a couple of the major crime organizations the world has to offer. Here's a sneak peek (to help you in sorting your characters once we get moved).

The Italian mafia: Known as "Cosa Nostra". They are not related by blood as the Irish were, but they still refer to themselves as a 'family'. You can judge whether that's creepy or not (lbr, it's a little creepy).

Nonaligned criminals: We have these now, but on the new site, they will have their own group. They're not allied with any mafia or larger crime organization. They're hackers, embezzlers, forgers, etc.

Bluecoats: This is 'the law' group. I just came up with a creative name for it. (Basically, I googled 'names for law enforcement' and bluecoats sounds a lot better than 'pigs', let me tell you.)

Le Bâton: Le Baton literally means 'stick' (you know, as in 'better to hit you with?'). This is a French organization, headed by five founding members (one for each letter in the word 'bâton'). As the Selwyns - and the FBI/CIA - suspected, the French have a secret organization designed for sex trafficking and drug trading. They specialize in trading what no one else wants to put their hands on, and they're good at it. The catch? They are well-known businessmen and merchants, one or two of them are actually politicians. Basically, they're the crookedest bastards you've ever met. (Oh, and they have those delicious, sexy French accents. ;))

That's the brief rundown of the groups for you so you can have in mind where you want to put the babies you're going to keep, and where you might want to create new ones. We think they'll be a lot of fun, especially having some more specific options. There will also be facts pages on each group, with a layout of their general structure, for anyone with questions such as, "What is a pakhan anyway?"

Now on to the reservations. Please reply to this thread with the following code to let us know what faces to reserve for you. Also, use this thread to plot with your fellow members! The setting of the site is moving from Boston to the southern city of Charleston, so that gives you ample opportunity to make some fresh plots with your characters. Take advantage of it. 8)

Also, as of right now, there is a new limit on how many characters you can have/create on the new site. We're limiting it to 10 because (trust me...) it's hard to keep more than ten active. For all you fellow character whores out there, stay with me... I know it's going to be hard... but we can do it.
