[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,386,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style, width:130px; height: 200px; background-image: url(http://i45.tinypic.com/34j2k28.jpg);][/style] | [style=height: 180px; overflow: auto; font-size: 9px;]born into a loving home with parents that wanted the world for her, aalijah never wanted for a thing. she was loved and cared for, spoiled until the day she finished high school. valedictorian, star of the girl's soccer team, accepted in harvard...she was as bright as they came. she went to harvard law school to become a lawyer, to follow in her father's footsteps, and she did finish her education. however, her heart wasn't in being a lawyer, and she quickly edited her education so that she could become a detective. however, harvard was when she met the love her life, or so she had thought at the time. ryan was intelligent, sharp, and extremely loyal. he was perfect for her. she was bright, he was dark, and they completed one another. their romance wasn't a rushed one, for he courted her throughout law school, asking her to marry him on the day of her graduation. she accepted because at that time, she was deeply in love. however, when they finally did tie the knot, everything changed. he became abusive, both physically and emotionally, and ali found herself making excuses for the random bruises that she needed to hide with long sleeves and sunglasses so that no one would question what was going on. and she was still as strong as ever on the outside, even though she was shattering on the inside, that no one truly questioned her. when asked about her new marriage, she could only gush over ryan, completely in denial about how much he was hurting her. it wasn't until he came home drunk one night that everything changed. he beat her within an inch of her life and she was forced to call out of work for a week straight after that while she healed. when she returned, she was flighty and jumpy, never giving straight answers about what happened to her. she was planning to run, which was something ryan expected. ali didn't give him time to even think about what she was doing though, so she filed for divorce, signing her parts of the papers and hoping he would just let her go and sign them as well. she took off, heading south from california. she didn't go far enough. he found her, and he beat her again, telling her that she couldn't divorce him, that he wouldn't allow it. now, ali has only gotten stronger from that point on, and she was determined to escape him again. when she wasn't carefully monitored, she took off again, and has no landed herself in boston. she has a new look to her, having put extensions in her hair, she's not as tan as she was living in california, and she has landed herself a job as a detective in the boston police department, much different than her career as a lawyer in sacramento. she's starting of, but constantly on her guard. she's under a new alias, calling herself by her middle name, sam. while ryan knows her middle name, it's safer than using aalijah. she has cut all paper trails, she doesn't have bank accounts or anything of the sort. she's careful with everything that she does and she doesn't allow herself to get close to anyone. she swallows herself in her work so she doesn't have time for friends. but when she does actually socialize, she's bubbly and bright and easy to talk to. she does her job well and she loves the new life that she has started in boston. she's been here for a month now, and so far, everything's been quiet. boston might have been far enough for her to go. |
