Her parents, Mireya and Henri Lacroix, are both full-blooded French and were raised on different sides of the country. They met at a fresh market in Paris. Three years later, they were married; Chantal was born a year after that. Chantal is an only child, as her parents felt they were far too busy and overwhelmed with their jobs to try to bring another child into the world. When Chantal was two, her parents decided to move to America for better job opportunities. However, little did they know that when they got to Boston, it wouldn't be long before it was in shambles, torn by two war-hungry countries. By moving to America at such a young age and before she was fully able to talk, Chantal lost her French accent and grew up learning to speak fluent English. However, because her parents only knew French - and had to begin taking English classes so as to be able to communicate with the Americans - they spoke solely French to her throughout her whole life. Therefore she grew up learning two different languages. Chantal can speak French just as fluently as English, and only when she speaks French does her true accent become apparent. A year ago, Chantal's parents divorced. Their marriage had been crumbling for the past few years and they had fallen out of love. Since the divorce, Mireya has begun seeing someone else, but Henri has not. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Chantal is generally very friendly and warm in her character. She enjoys company and likes meeting new people. However, though normally cordial and open, Chantal is very wary and doesn't trust easily. She'll greet you with open arms, but that doesn't mean she would share her secrets with you. In fact, Chantal tends to be very suspicious. Though, you can't blame her, considering where she lives. She has become a self-proclaimed Sherlock Holmes of the female sort. A good mystery is exhilarating for her and she tends to take things into her own hands. Living in a crime-abundant city, it's not difficult for her to seek new investigations. Her curiosity could perhaps cost her one day, but she won't stop her thrill-seeking anytime soon. Demanding and determined, Chantal simply will not take no for an answer. Ever. When she wants answers, she wants answers. Along with her obsession with mystery, Chantal has also become obsessed with photography over the last three or four years. Her camera is her baby and she takes it everywhere with her; if you see her out in public without her camera around her neck, something is definitely not right. She's somewhat of a hipster, but wouldn't refer to herself as that. When it comes to guys, she tends to be awkward. Never having had a boyfriend and still without a first kiss, that's to be expected. However, perhaps another year in Boston will bring about new adventures in the romance department. |
