They met in a theatre and fell fast and hard, a whirlwind romance to compete with even Austen's own. They married and moved to his fathers hometown, where Austen was born and raised. He grew up on the stage, basically, singing and dancing since being able to wobble and mumble baby talk. He was taught by his father and mother a myriad of performance skills. Austen is a talented actor and vocalist thanks to his father, and a talented jazz and tap dancer thanks to his mother. The skills came in handy in the theatre, of course, and Austen easily became the best actor in his high school. His parents supported him thoroughly in almost every endeavor he set upon, allowing him expansive room to grow into a stand up young man. Austen can be characterized as a lovable puppy, or an adorable kitten. He wants nothing but to love and protect whoever he chooses, and has a very playful nature. Although he can come off as a little over eager and even a little obnoxious, most people are bought with the winning smile. Austen has a compassionate way about him, giving him a particular love of animals and all things fluffy. His personality may seem childish, but he can be the perfect picture of focus when the time comes; in fact, that's how he approaches his work in performance. He never lets anything stand in his way when he wants something, either. He is a go-getter sort of guy. This has helped him now, after running away with his wife, Britton, in achieving a stable, if not incredibly boring, job and home for his little family of two. Speaking of his wife, it's a funny story: during his senior year in high school, Austen met the first girl that could ever distract him from theatre: Britton Rook. She was intense, witty, beautiful and dying. What was not to like? Although it started as a friendship, it quickly developed into something more for both of them. When she relapsed into her illness thanks to her brain tumor, her life expectancy shrank while Austen's love grew. Her parents tried to shut her away from him, but she was the one who suggested eloping and moving to, of all places, Boston. Austen agreed without hesitation, telling his parents and accepting their blessing; they help when they can, but Britton has her savings, and Austen hates accepting handouts. He's worked hard and diligently to get his stable job, but his real dream, of course, awaits him in New York. Britton, however, has become his top priority lately, the sicker she gets, and that is fine with Austen. He is really in love with her and happy to be her husband. |
