[style=height: 180px; overflow: auto; font-size: 9px;]anouk kilgore was a girl who had a personality that could not be contained in the small town of damascus, virginia. her mother, annemarie, loved the small town setting. it was ideal for her, since she was a single mother with two kids. everyone knew everyone and she could easily call anyone on their street to watch over her two angels. no one held any judgment against the hardworking woman, despite the fact that she went through men like underwear. luke's father, her older brother, had been a comic fanatic and had been named after a star wars character. anouk's dad came from france and that was the reasoning behind her strange name. annemarie only kept men around for a year, she seemed to have a curse that kept her from being able to maintain a solid relationship. the constant switching of men never bothered anouk, she always loved the variety and spice the spunky characters brought into the kilgore home. her home life was acceptable, but she could not have hated the small town and steadiness and reliability of her life. the one thing that anouk hated the most was being contained, unable to rise to her full potential and see the world. she was born with a case of wanderlust that she sadly would never be able to satisfy as long as annemarie was in control of her life. luke was always the child who got the appraise and attention from annemarie. he was quiet, studious, and possessed everything that annemarie stamped as signs of success. anouk was sassy, bouncy, talkative, distracted, and far too passionate for annemarie. she could not keep her daughter tamed and never seemed to hammer any of her crucial messages into her head. anouk frustrated her constantly because she never seemed to win with her. with anouk it was like talking to a wall because her daughter was lost in her own world of impossible fairytales that her mother would never allow. anouk had charisma that drew people to her, she did not have any thought in her mind of consequences and could only keep focused on things that appealed to her. she was not dumb or dull, but her teachers had the hardest time trying to keep her focused. she was always chattering, finding herself in the center of conversation and getting herself in trouble with her daring and reckless nature. she always felt bad after she would get in trouble and always ended up apologizing. sometimes she would speak too freely and hurt someone with her words. that always made anouk feel the worst. but she was a lovely girl, meaning well and completely sincere. it was just that she could not ever keep herself on track and seemed to never think too far ahead. people loved her and she loved them back, finding it easy to socialize. that was the reason why she was always involved with clubs and trying out new things. by the time she finished middle school anouk was in the language club, student council, the recycling squad, library club, and also played tennis, soccer, and did swimming. she loved to be involved and also found that a full schedule helped with her limitless amount of energy. her mom nearly locked anouk permanently in the house when two months into her senior year she told her that she had aspirations to be a model. before anouk go on a tangent of how she planned to go to boston and all of the money that she saved up from her job as a waitress would be dedicated to the cause annemarie completely exploded on her daughter. usually strong and independent, nook burst out into tears and that only fueled her mother's rage. she nailed it into her head that she was going to finish school and go and get a degree, one in law to be specific. she would not have her daughter go into a career that was powered by starvation and indulging in illegal substances. her mother's blatant distaste crushed anouk for two whole months, almost stomping out the flame of a crave for modeling and high fashion that anouk had been searching after for her whole life. she had never told her mother that her whole life she had such dreams, knowing that damascus was not the place where she was destined to spend her whole life. she would travel the whole world, not sit behind a desk and solve cases that she could not be interested in the least. four long years were spent at virginia university, anouk going with a full scholarship and staying on campus as much as possible. when she came home with a degree her mom could not have been anymore proud. anouk tried her best to keep her conscious clear when she packed up all of her stuff and was leaving damascus permanently three days later. she did not tell anyone that she was leaving, only left a note and took a bus to straight to boston. anouk did not give much thought to her plan, only knew that she had saved up for a year and that was all that it would take for her to get discovered. she was wrong. while anouk had natural talent and startling beauty, she would not catch a break in terms of the modeling industry. after a year, she finally faced the facts that her money was running out and the tiny apartment she lived in still did not feel like home to her. desperate, she leafed through the ads to find that a mister james-blair needed a babysitter. she gobbled up the job immediately and fell in love with the kid that she was baby sitting. still, it's not the life that she planned out for herself. |
