When money can buy anything for a man who had everything - there was nothing that would stop him from obtaining his desires. Not even the love or welfare of his wife he married in his years in university. When Joseph Raymond met Jacinda Castillo while she was cleaning the floors of his mudroom. Instantly smitten, Joseph was relentless in his attempts to woo her. Giving in, she allowed herself to fall prey and victim to Joseph's courting. She became pregnant with his first and only child. Believing he had done right, Joseph went to his wife, but she felt betrayed, embarrassed, her heart ripped out from her. It was a strain on the marriage and a very public affair, for a mistress to be publicized and ridiculed. No amount of money would separate Jacinda from her infant son, Archer, and she fled the streets of the Bronx to live in the downtown area of Boston. With the knowledge that Jacinda would never stop running from him, Joseph stood ground and watched his son grow from afar in the most run-down hotel room he had ever seen. While Jacinda worked hard her entire life for all the blessings she and Archer had, she was helped along the way. She was not blind to the help, but she chose to look past it. Jacinda wasn't as unintelligent as Joseph believed her to be nor his beloved wife he married straight from high school. Jacinda wanted to work hard and raise a humble child, but she always wanted the financial security raising a child product of a love affair. She met Ramona Raymond in by chance in a bar. Downtrodden by the fertility struggle of her life, Ramona vented to Jacinda about all that was going on and went as far as asking the very much sober Jacinda to accompany her home. Upon arrival, Ramona offered Jacinda a job straight from her monthly allowances if she spoke nothing of her struggles to the media. Knowing that the offer was something she could not pass up, she took the job. When she met Joseph, it was all about seducing and then seven months later, Ramona was paying her off to run. Half of her allowances for the eighteen years of Archer's life, Jacinda wasn't foolish. She took the deal and ran. Neither Archer nor Joseph know of these deals. On the senior trip to new york city, Joseph took the step to approach his son. It did not go well, Archer ran and demanded to know if his mother did know his father's whereabouts as he was always believed that she did not know where he was. Confessing she did and confirming his identity, Archer hesitantly took his offer to pay for his college tuition in full if he agreed to go to business. Although Archer originally wanted to become a baker or study hospitality to see where hotels could take him, but Joseph would only agree to a dual degree with hospitality alongside international business affairs. Archer loathed college classes for the business affairs degree, but he loved his hospitality classes and knew that was where he wanted to take his life. He also managed to squeeze in baking classes, and now that he spends a normal eight our shift following his father around he spends his evenings baking, but he isn't satisfied and he still doesn't know who he is. He's searching for his identity as Archer not as an heir to a telecommunications fortune or as the child of an affair. |
